Fiending for downhill

Apparently the agenda (unknown to me) for today involved meeting people for the next New Zealand holiday, not snowboarding on this one. Wandering through Queenstown, I stumbled into a shop called Fiend. I don’t recall how it happened, but next thing I knew, I was chatting about downhill and freeride mountain biking with the shop’s owner, Aaron Fernandez, who just happens to run the site NZRide.com. Now I am jonesing to mountain bike. Why didn’t I bring bike gear? Maybe because it was supposed to be winter with record freshies? Too bad I hadn’t noticed that they had stopped in May and everything had turned to hardpack.
